Smart Home and Integrated Systems in the Town of Mount Royal

Homes rebuilt from the inside, and technology planned while the walls are open.

A Town of Mount Royal home

The Town of Mount Royal renovates from the inside. Homes on large lots are stripped to the studs and rebuilt completely, while the exterior stays largely as it was because the regulations require it. It’s the best possible situation for us, and the one where the timing of the call matters most.

We work alongside the architect, the designer and the general contractor.

Areas we serve

The Town of Mount Royal, Hampstead, Côte-Saint-Luc, Outremont, Westmount and Nuns’ Island. Our workshops are in Laval and our teams are on the island every day.

Our approach

How we work

01

A full renovation, and a single window

When the walls are open, anything is possible and nothing is expensive. Once they’re closed, it’s the opposite. That window lasts a few weeks in a project that runs fifty, and it decides whether the final system will be complete or full of compromises.

02

Few vertical paths

Many homes in the area are bungalows or split-levels. With no full-height basement or usable attic, cable runs go through soffits, closets and sometimes along the outside, under the insulation. That gets decided on site with the contractor, not on a plan.

03

What the bylaws allow outside

Town planning bylaws govern what can be seen from the street, and that affects cameras, outdoor speakers and antennas. We choose locations with that in mind from the start, rather than moving equipment afterwards.

04

Tall trees, large lots

Mature trees give the neighbourhood its character, and they are the worst enemy of outdoor wireless networks. Coverage for the yard, garage and pool is designed for summer foliage, not February’s.
