Privacy policy

Câble&Son takes the protection of your personal information seriously. This policy explains what information we collect on cableson.com, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Contact form: name, email address, phone number and message. Used only to answer your request.
• Application form: name, email address, phone number, message and attached résumé. Used only to review your application.
• Email or phone: the information you choose to share with us.

Information collected automatically, only with your consent

If you accept it in the cookie banner, we collect browsing data (pages viewed, visit duration, device type, where the visit came from, approximate city). Without your consent, no measurement or advertising tool is loaded.

3. Cookies and tools we use

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, reject or choose by category. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is kept for 12 months, after which you will be asked again.

These tools are managed through Google Tag Manager, which is only loaded after you consent. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

If you withdraw your consent, we delete the Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies set on cableson.com. Cookies set on Google’s own domains can only be deleted from your browser or your Google account.

4. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information. It is only shared with the service providers the site needs to operate, who only access it to provide that service:

• Amazon Web Services: hosting of the site and its data, in Montréal (Québec).
• SMTP2GO: delivery of the emails sent by our forms.
• Google: reCAPTCHA and, with your consent, Google Analytics and Google Ads.

5. Transfers outside Québec

SMTP2GO and Google process information outside Québec, notably in the United States. These transfers are governed by the data protection terms of these providers.

6. Retention

• Requests sent through the contact form: as long as needed to handle the request and follow up on our business relationship.
• Applications: as long as needed to process the application.
• Google Analytics data: 14 months.

At the end of these periods, the information is destroyed or anonymized.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to information is limited to the people who need it. If a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury occurs, we notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned, and record it in our incident register.

8. Your rights

At any time, you may:

• access the personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
• have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal;
• withdraw your consent, including to cookies, with the “Cookie settings” link;
• ask that your information stop being disseminated or that any hyperlink giving access to it be de-indexed;
• receive the information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability).

9. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

10. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to the law. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
